Touring France in a motorhome day Twenty-Nine Marseillan Plage

 September 26th  - Day twenty-nine

Is Marseillan Plage a good motorhome destination?

And just like that the accessory loop stops working again, having worked perfectly the last four days. There is no rhyme or reason to this sudden state of affairs. We will need to contact VanBlitz when we get back to see if they can sort it for us.

We leave the lively campsite Vaison la Romaine, with its boules tournaments and head south to Orange, across the extensive flat plateaus of vineyards. A ‘sea of vines’, as far as the eye can see, on stony, fertile soils and where we see our first grapes being picking by hand.

A 2.5 hrs drive down the A9 brings us to Marseillan Plage (we did have a stop off at a motorway services for coffee and choc aux pains obviously. We aren’t complete heathens!).

Our Mediterranean beach resort could be my personal vision of hell if the site were full. As it is, it’s open and quite empty. We treat ourselves to one of the more expensive pitches - a big sandy pitch twenty metres from the sea with great open skies and few mosquitoes. The windy conditions may help on that front. They could barely get airborne before being whisked away! EHU and water tap on our pitch – luxury!

We walk the site and are excited by the loos. They actually come with toilet seats (so many French aires and campsites don’t seem to supply toilet seats with their loos!) AND luxury toilet paper. We are positively exhilarated by the showers; lots of hot water, good shower stream, room to stand and change and a washbasin alongside. There is a spa with a heated indoor pool as well. We have clearly fallen on our feet. Such unbridled luxury!  A couple of miles walk will bring us to Cape Adge as long as we don't mind going past Frances biggest naturist resort. With this current wind chill that could be an interesting experience!
