September 23rd – day twenty-six
Feeling so chilled and liking the area so much, we opt to
stay another night and treat ourselves to a pool side breakfast – baguette and
jams, croissant, coffee and lovely fresh orange juice for five euros. And,
refreshed, we set off along the beach for town to do some ‘touristy’ shop
browsing. We didn't find the big market.
A website we were told to use, placed it at one car park which we went to. Only
when we got back later to the campsite, did our neighbours tell us it had moved
to centre of town. Missed it completely!
But we did get to see al the roads in the town fenced off.
It was the annual bull run festival and the Camargue gringos rode into town
sending the cattle before them. Very exciting stuff!
Meanwhile Mag has very nasty bite on her leg which has
blistered badly and gone very red and sore. She was bitten whilst at the restaurant
last night, probably by one of the giant mosquitoes; even despite wearing long
trousers. Her ankle looks nasty and I'm slightly worried about it. It could be
a doctor jobbie.
We spend the afternoon relaxing around the pool and catching
up with washing, computer ‘paper work’ and some photo processing. It's a mad frantic
dash by everyone to take down awnings, windbreaks, floor coverings and get any washing
racks as the first unexpected storm rain drops hit the motorhome roofs.
Some intense storm. Great orchestral drumbeats on the roof.
Post storm? Bigger mossies turn up. A complete shock to us all! HOW can they be
any BIGGER than the ones already dining out on us. Well, it seems mosquitoes
can grow to HUGE sizes!
