We went for a quick three day potter in the motorhome to Carnon Downs down in Truro. A CAMC site - well laid out, spacious and with wonderful facilities. Well worth the price, on this occasion, given the awful weather we have been having lately. We will post a tour blog sometime this week but for now............

BIG skies. BIG, OPEN skies!  This site has huge open sky vistas.

Astrophotography time!!

First time I have managed to get my GoPro to do night timelapse photography. It took over an hours filming to get this short 7 second clip 😀

Here we have a close up around Orion
The top left hand nebula is the horsehead nebula. The bottom one is Orion nebula with the running man nebula alongside.
Camera settings were un-modded Canon 800D, 55 - 250 mm kit lens at 135mm  F/4.6  ISO800  60 x 45s and 25 bias and 25 dark frames

Close up of the Horse head nebula taken at ISO 800   F/5.6   200mm  75 x 45s with 25 darks and 25 bias frames

Set up outside Bryony

My very first attempt at the Leo Triplet of galaxies. These are 35 million light years away from Earth and cannot be seen that well with the naked eye.
getting the photos was easy. Processing them is frying my brain!
ISO 1600,    F/5.6     250mm    90 x 45s    30 darks and 30 bias frames
